NFL Rivals Twitter
NFL Rivals is a mobile game and coinciding NFT collection, created by Mythical Games and officially sponsored by the National Football League. I was tasked with fully owning the NFL Rivals Twitter presence– creating relevant and engaging Tweets that spoke to football fans, gamers and NFT collectors alike.
TOV: Energetic, hype, masculine, rambunctious
Challenges: My main challenge when taking on this client was understanding the jargon and humor of three distinct communities. I had no experience with NFTs or Web3, and very little football knowledge. An integral part of writing Tweets for this account was research, Reddit deep-dives, and a willingness to listen and learn.
NFL Rivals Meme Series
Within the NFL Rivals Twitter, I created a series of football memes. All images and text were hand-picked and written by me.
TOV: Witty, insider, self-deprecating
Challenges: Curating truly funny, shareable memes while maintaining strict NFL guidelines; such as not targeting specific players or teams, and being generally safe-for-work and advertiser-friendly.
Sparkblox Twitter
After starting with zero Web3 knowledge, I soon became the go-to NFT copywriter within my marketing agency. I was trusted to revamp the brand voice of blockchain startup, Sparkblox. Sparkblox is an NFT creation platform that wanted to position themselves as a DIY, user-friendly creative experience and become “the Wordpress of Web3.”
TOV: Informative, educational, conversational, friendly
Challenges: When other blockchain startups were steeped in jargon and "hype" language, Sparkblox was eager to set themselves apart. I worked closely with the CEO and creative director to make the brand voice as friendly and approachable as possible– speaking to artists and creatives rather than crypto-bros. My main challenge was working within language barriers and clearly articulating this goal to the rest of the Sparkblox team and social media manager.
ARTIFACT Twitter
ARTIFACT is a physical art installation and digital collection powered by Sparkblox. In partnership with their artist-in-residence, I was asked to run a separate ARTIFACT Twitter account with an artistic, sophisticated voice to promote the installation’s international tour and various design drops.
TOV: Artistic, intelligent, thoughtful, atmospheric
Challenges: My main challenge was writing thoughtfully about an art installation without having the artist available to consult with. In order to truly do ARTIFACT justice, I had to parse through the artist’s own notes and commentary in combination with my best judgment.
ECB Electric Website
ECB Electric is a family-owned electrical contracting company with a classic “by-their-bootstraps” story. Although they’ve found incredible success, ECB had not updated their website or online presence in several years. After a much-needed site redesign, I created all website copy to capture their history, current services, and business niche.
TOV: Elevated, inspiring, trustworthy
Challenges: A website can be extremely personal, especially when working with small business owners. I had to take special care to ensure my retelling of their family’s story fit their vision accurately, and that most importantly, they loved it.
